Our Process

Everything we make at oakfab is produced in-house from our Melbourne warehouse, meaning that we take care of the process every step of the way. We want to make bringing your next bespoke metal project to life as straightforward as possible.

Step 1 - Quotation:

If you have a project for us, get in contact via our contact form or by emailing us your architectural plans. We will liaise with you to collect all of the information we require and get back to you within 1-3 business days with a free quotation. Quotes are valid for 30 days, after which they are subject to re-quotation.

  

Step 2 - Deposit:

If you are happy with the quote and want to proceed, we require a 50% deposit.

 

Step 3 - Site Consultation:

Once we have received your deposit, we will come for a site consultation where we can go over the designs and site measurements.

Step 4 - Shop Drawings:

After the site consultation, we will supply you with your CAD Shop Drawings for you to amend or approve.

 

Step 5 - Fabrication:

Once the drawings are confirmed we will begin the fabrication process. Our lead times vary and we can confirm these with you during the quotation phase.

Step 6 - Finishings:

When your project is fabricated, we organise the finishings you have requested including but not limited to powdercoat, paint, zinc plating, galvanising, sandblasting, and glazing.

Step 7 - Installation:

As your project is progressing, we will liaise with you for an installation date. We will then bring the product to site where we will install the product and fix off any hardware on our doors or windows.
